Arrive in Auckland. The team will be
picked up by Papakura East Presbyterian Church (PEPC) and sleeping Marae
style in PEPC.

That all our people/gear will fit in vehicles
That we will have a good night sleep

Depart PEPC for Auckland international
airport.

Arrive in Port Vila and head to the
Airline Business Hotel to check in and drop gear off.
|
That check in will go smoothly etc.

Lunch and afternoon
|
Training with Jonathan Tarip who is a
local who will teach the team more about the culture and how to introduce
ourselves in Bislama.
|
That we will learn heaps and be able to prepare as much as possible
for the week ahead
|

Vanuatu International Airport.

Arrive on Tanna Island and head
straight to Lennakel Presbyterian College (LPC).
|
That we will actually get picked up from airport!

Afternoon
|
Settling into LPC, introducing
ourselves and beginning our work.
|
That our nerves will be calmed and we will have strength as we have
to introduce ourselves in Bislama in front of the entire school.
|

July

We will be working in LPC which will
include:
Supporting the local people and
letting them know they are not forgotten after Cyclone Pam
Leading chapels and devotions
Class work where we will be doing
games/activities/spoken English and NZ geography with the children
Singing worship songs with the
children
Doing sports with the children
Helping with practical jobs
(gardening/painting etc)
Visiting the Volcano
Catching up with local Tear Fund
missionaries and seeing what work they are doing and what people in NZ can
continue do to support Tanna Island.
|
That God will provide us strength, guidance, wisdom and patience to
get through all the activities the school has planned for us.
That we will be able to encourage and support the local people.
That the team will get along and work well together.
That God will be a light that shines through us in all that we do.

Arrive in Port Vila and travel to the Melanesian
|

We will be in Port Vila doing the
following activities:
Attending the local Presbyterian
Church
Debriefing as a team before heading
back to NZ
Catching up with missionaries based in
Port Vila and hearing their stories.
Exploring Port Vila
Going to Hide Away Island and
snorkelling the reef
Having fun
|
That God will keep us safe and that we will be able to debrief and
reflect on the last week as a team.
That God will enable us to have fun before returning to NZ.
That the team will be able to relax a bit before returning back to
NZ.

Wednesday 20th July

Leave the Melanesian and travel to
Port Vila International Airport
|
That we will arrive to airport on time.

Arrive back in Auckland and say
goodbye to Jeremy (who has his boys 1st birthday to celebrate at
Auckland Zoo).

That the team will not celebrate Jeremy’s departure too much.

Depart Auckland on NZ677
|
Safe travels.
|
|
7.30pm
|
Arrive back to Dunedin into the arms
of loving family!
|
For rejoicing, stories and the family time that will follow being
home.
That the trip will change our lives forever!
That we will never forget the people we meet in Vanuatu.
